WATERFALL WEEK-END – 2 days trip



Arrive in Rieti. Guided tour in the historical center of the town: the ancient roman bridge, the Vecchiarelli Palace, the Cathedral of Saint Mary, the main square, the church of San Rufo, the Episcopal Palace, Flavio Vespasiano Theater and the Monument to Lira.

Mini chocolate taste at “Cioccolateria Napoleone”. Cioccolateria Napoleone comes from the passion, the inspiration and the knowledge of the chocolate master Pietro Napoleone. Thirty years of experience in the pastry-making, ice-cream making and chocolate-making, gave birth, on february 2008 to the “Chocolate Factory”.

Taste of wine at “Cantina Campigliano”. This is one of the first high quality and modern methods viticulture in this territory. The Cantina Campigliano today is a succesfull wine reality in Italy.

Lunch in “Labro” at “Boccondivino Restaurant”. A charming atmosphere characterized this small village and the Boccondivino Restaurant, where you will find Mauro and Valeria welcoming you.


Afternoon of free visits (advice)

Accomodation at “Relais Villa D’Assio”. The Relais Villa D’Assio rises up on the hills of Colli sul Velino ( a small village in the province of Rieti), in a very charming place surrounded by nature and relax. The Relais rises up on the suggestive “Rosea” farm. It is the result of an accurate building restoration of a nineteenth century hamlet occupied by the ancient farmers of the Prince Ludovico Spada Veralli Potenziani’s property.

Dinner with products and local dishes at the restaurant “Tempe” of the Relais. “Tempe” offers to the guests the right combination of elegance and simplicity showing respect for the naturalness and sustainability of products with a seasonal menu.



Visit to the farm “La Drupa” for tasting EVO oil Valnerina. Authenticity and conviviality feature the agricultural activity of Torlini family in Ferentillo (a small village in the province of Terni). The organic extra virgin olive oil is made only with Drupa’s farm olives, with the most representative olive cultivars “moraiolo” and “leccino”.

For the year 2018 the activities planned at the “La Drupa farm” will be suspended until further notice. As an alternative, a tasting of extra virgin olive oil from Valnerina will be offered at the Sapori Piermarini restaurant in Ferentillo.

Lunch with products and dishes of the Valnerina territory at the restaurant Piermarini. The Slow Food guide “Osterie D’Italia” rewarded Piermarini Restaurant among the best wine and food  realities in Umbria area this year again. “The welcome quality standards and the excellence of cuisine are the naturally pursued aims…”  cit. Osterie d’Italia guida 2016 Slow Food.  

Visit to the Marmore Falls. It ‘a controlled flow waterfall, among the highest in Europe, divided into three jumps that together cover a vertical drop of 165 meters. It is located in Umbria, near the end of Valnerina, the long valley carved by the river Nera.

Children are welcome.

Tastes, lunches and dinners: children under 3 travel free.

Any other additional request will be paid on the spot. Reduced fares for children beetween 3-10 years old. In the tasting tour at Cantina Campigliano for under aged will be served a non-alcoholic drink.

At Relais Villa D’Assio: all kids under 3 years stay free. An additional charge is required for children’s cribs, the maximum number of cribs permitted  is 3. There is an additional charge for children between 4-10 years old in extra bed. the maximum number of extra beds permitted is 2.  Any type of extra bed or child’s crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management. Tourist tax to pay on the spot.
